Crescent Valley was well represented at the Oregon Game Project Challenge this year, with first-time attending teams and an experienced team of seniors. Having a great time, seeing projects written in everything from GameMaker to Oculus Rift game design, the "Hidden Worlds" theme was fully explored with creativity and extensive thought. With over 50 teams from around Oregon, and even some from southwest Washington, attended this year's event. Held in Keizer's Community Center this year, over 250 students were in attendance, with their coaches and a small army of volunteers. We appreciate everyone who came out and attended this event, and watched as our senior team won not only the trophy for Art and Resources (evaluated as the best art, music and more), but the People's Choice Award (voted on by the attendees for their favorite project).
The Statesman Journal Newspaper posted a nice article about this event, with quotes from our winning senior team: Statesman Journal
Once again, Crescent Valley's Robotics Team has won the privilage to go to St. Louis to compete in the FIRST Robotics World Competition. Students are scheduled to be gone to this international competition from Wednesday to Sunday, April 27th to May 1st. We are excited to send these students to this great opportunity, to represent Crescent Valley against teams from around the world.
To help pay for this trip, Robotic Team Members are now selling flower baskets from a generous and beautiful local nursery, for $25 each.
School Calendar Update: Last day of the 2015-16 school year has changed.
June 16, 2016, is the last day of the 2015-16 school year and was originally communicated as a full school day on the calendar. This is typically a day for teachers and students to celebrate and say their goodbyes for the summer. After further review of instructional hours and the 2015-16 calendar, we have determined that the last day of school will follow a two-hour early release schedule.
