AP Exams

The Advanced Placement (AP) Program is administered by The College Board to provide high school students an opportunity to take college-level coursework and earn college credit or advanced placement in college level classes.

AP Exam Schedule 2023-2024

Advanced Placement (AP) exams are given each year in May.  Colleges and universities may grant advanced placement and course credit to students who obtain higher scores (3, 4 or 5) on the examinations. You can access the AP 2024 Exam Schedule for more details.

AP Exam Registration

AP 2023-24 CVHS Registration Process:

  • Step 1 – Create your College Board Account: Log in to your College Board account, or create a new College Board account, if you don’t already have one. Use one account for everything with the College Board: SAT, PSAT, AP.  Please do not create multiple College Board accounts.  Use your personal email address for your College Board account. Write down your CB username and password in at least 2 safe places (phone notes, in a planner, on a saved document) and take a screenshot. Staff cannot access your user name or password.
  • Step 2 – Join your AP Classroom in every AP class, regardless of whether you are taking the AP exam or not. Your AP teacher will give you a unique join code for each class section. Video: Join Your AP Classroom.  Joining your AP classroom gives you access to instructional videos, practice questions, and more.
  • Step 3 – Register for AP exam: All AP students must change the “Register for Exam” button/indicator in your AP account to “Yes” or “No” by November 1, or incur a $40 late fee (not the same as the cancellation fee). Note: If you are a CVHS student taking an AP class at CHS, please contact your AP teacher or Emily Dray at CHS for a special Exam-only Join Code. CV students will register to take the exam at CV, not CHS, using an exam-only join code. If you are a CHS student taking an AP class at CVHS, please contact your AP teacher or Cliff Kirkpatrick at CV for a special Exam-only Join Code. CHS students will register to take the exam at CHS, not CVHS, using this exam only Join Code.

AP Exam and Portfolio Cancellations:

The AP policy for CVHS and Corvallis Online is that if the student registers for the AP exam and takes the exam, the exam fee will be paid by the school.  If the student wants to register for the exam after the deadline, the exam fee will be paid by the school, and the $40 late fee will be paid by the student.  If the student registers for the exam and does not take the exam, the $40 cancellation fee will be paid by the student.

Important AP 2023-24 Dates and Deadlines:
