Grading/GPA and Class Rank
All classes graded A, B, C, D, F, P (pass), NP (no pass), G (no grade), I (incomplete). R indicates course repeated (no credit). A=4.0, B=3.0, C=2.0, D=1.0, F=0. G and NP are not figured into the GPA. No additional grade points for honors or advanced placement courses. Class rank not weighted.
Schedule and Credits
2010-2011 School Year uses a Block schedule. Four 95-minute periods meet daily plus 20 minute Advisor period meets twice weekly.
Credit awarded at end of each semester period for grades of A, B, C, D, P.
Yearlong classes meeting alternating days may receive progress grades at 9 weeks, and a final grade and .5 credit per semester.
Full-time students earn approximately 6 to 7 credits per year.
A new schedule is being adopted beginning in the 2011-2012 School Year. It allows for the same credit earning oppotunities, but is designed to give staff time to help students with academic successes during a regular, structured time. The new schedule is linked here:
Scores and Scholars
National Merit Scholarship Qualified:
- Class of 2014: 4 finalists, 1 semi-finalist, and 11 commended students
- Class of 2013: 5 finalists and 5 commended students
- Class of 2012: 6 finalists, and 14 commended students
- Class of 2011: 1 semi-finalist and 6 commended students
College Entrance Examination Board SAT taken by 183 or 75% of the members of the Class of 2013:
- Verbal: 568 [Oregon 520; National 496]
- Math: 574 [Oregon 520; National 514]
- Writing: 552 [Oregon 499; National 488]

Honors Intro. to Literature, Honors International Studies (language arts & social studies), Honors American Literature, Honors Essay & Inquiry, AP English, Honors Geometry, Honors Algebra 2, Honors Precalculus, Calculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Spanish, AP US History, AP US Government & Politics, Honors Biology, AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, AP Chemistry, optional honors credit is available in Chemistry, Physics, and Marine Science.
Aligned classes with Linn Benton Community College, a one-time registration cost of $25 lets students earn transferable college credits while attending classes at Crescent Valley; students must earn a 3.0 or above in the class to be eligible for college credits. Classes available change each semester, based on student registrations for the year. Students can register anytime during the semester they are taking a College NOW course, or if they plan on taking a course in the future; they can not register after they have completed a College NOW qualified course. They can register through their College NOW certified teacher, the Career Center at Crescent Valley, or through the online registration page at LBCC.
